The 113 Class Renault bus had all the features of the other PR100.3s and on completion it was loaned to the Brisbane City Council for twelve months. When Brisbane City Council had finished with the bus it was taken to Austral Denning where it was converted to an easy access bus.

The steps were removed from the front Entrance and the floor was ramped to allow access by wheelchairs. A “Bode” automatic ramp was fitted under the front step and kneeling suspension was fitted.

The ramp, kneeling suspension, electronic accelerator and speed sensor were connected through the PLC door control to prevent the bus being driven with the doors open the ramp extended and the suspension lowered. The seating layout was changed and provision was made for two wheelchairs. Bus 113 went into service on 28 August 1995.

The 126 – 131 Class Renault has all the features of the other PR100.3s and the prototype bus 113 has the notable difference of an “Tieman” (Australian made) wheelchair ramp. Bus 126 was fitted with a Compressed Air Start System instead of the normal 24v electrical starter.

Buses 113 and 126-131 were Renault PR100.3a (for Accessible) but have since been converted back to PR100.3 buses, however they retain the stepless entry of the PR100.3a and doors that open outwards. Photos of these buses can be found in our gallery, and articles for each bus at our wiki.
