Now, I'm pretty sure I am not the first to bike 'n' ride an artic with the new racks, if I am, then what the hell... cause up until now I had not seen a single Artic rack in use.

All that's left to find out now is if the use is allowed on normal services. I did see a 61N with an artic before getting on 522, but once again wasn't being used. Just like this, I guess I'll have to find out myself.

Not ACTION and not all buses but this seems (from past posts) to be the topic used.

VH-VZU "Lorne", 737-800 (QF795 Canberra-Melbourne)
33, Tullamarine Bus Lines (rte 479 Melbourne Airport - Airport West tram terminus)
2099, B2 class tram (rte 59 Airport West - Moonee Ponds Junction)
209 Z3 class tram (rte 82 Moonee Ponds Junction - Footscray)
748M, part of train (Footscray - Flinders St via Southern Cross)
2063, B2 Class (rte ??, 1 stop Flinders St - Arts Precinct)
126, Z3 Class (rte 5, 1 stop Arts Precinct - Flinders St)
879M, part of train (S. Morang service, Flinders St - S. Morang via Southern Cross)
8390, Volvo B7R, Transdev (rte 901 S. Morang - Melbourne Airport. 'Smart Bus' service originating Frankston)
VH-VZY "Temora", 737-800 (QF822 Melborne-Canberra)

Notes:
The "Smart Bus" rte 901 runs every quarter hour and takes mostly over 4 hrs between Frankston and Melbourne Airport on a route orbiting around the outer suburbs. So this one route alone would irequire the assignment of over 34 buses.

Flight time take off to landing to Melborne 53min and on return only 41min. Entirely down to head versus tail winds.

I still haven't called ACTION to ask about the routes that may or may not allow usage of the bike racks on the artics, but from what I can guess until then, it is up to the driver.

I would think all of them, given the artics haven't been restricted to certain routes like the STAGs,

Sylvan Loves Buses

I would normally agree, however, there is the concern of the suburbs that have those roundabouts or sharp turns followed by the keep-right signed islands, a few of which on Langdon Ave I've had some close calls with by either having my bike or the rack getting bumped by the signs when a standard bus is turning past them.

Don't you think action would have said something if they were imposing any restrictions on bike rack use of artics? I don't think it would be any harder with an artic, possibly even easier to get around those roundabouts. I presume you mean keep left, not right.
If you want to impose your own restriction on bike rack use just don't put your bike on those routes. But if no restrictions are placed on standard buses that are in some cases failing to get around, why should they restrict artics with the same issue?

Not sure how taken I am with the interior, looks cool as you get on facing the back but not so cool seated facing the front. It was after dark so not quite sure what the effect is but what's with the blue spots all over the windows? Exhilarating ride nonetheless and felt more powerful than the E6 although there's no reason it should be, probably just the perception that comes with getting on a new bus.

The Custom CB80 Scania K320UB Euro VI's and the Bustech VST Scania K320UB Euro VI's are equally powerful - they're have the same chassis/engines! The only difference is the bodywork.

As for those "blue spots," they're actually an anti-graffiti measure.

632 (65) - Presumably first day, possibly first run in service if it wasn't out in the morning, but MyWay machine already broken. The excitement for the Melrose HS students was real - "woah it's a new bus, like really really new" "whoa look at the stop light it's so fancy it doesn't just say stop it says bus stopping" "woah look at the stop buttons you can actually read the writing it hasn't been scratched off" "whoa it's so shiny" "woah this bus smells I can still smell the newness" ... You get the idea. And I'm sitting there like grrrrrr...

It was pretty cool, sounds so different, though the brakes seemed less effective and jerky, you notice the clatter more because of the quieter engine (which does not make for a quieter trip overall) and the interior is a little more bland. The front > < shaped LED lights that I hadn't noticed from initial photos are cool
