that's just stupid. Why should parents with prams be banned from utilising public transport because of overcrowded buses or your personal preference?

Okay maybe I didn't word that properly, what I am trying to say is they should be folded up, they take up too much space, especially on a busy peak hour service

Bus 400

Woden Interchange Platforms now have one sided versions of new bus stop bollards. These include times & route maps, these replace the old flat sided ones with only the times.

Buzz Killington

sounds interesting..

is the global financial crisis having an effect on the bus advertising industry or something? its ridiculous how many renaults have no advertising on two or all sides at the moment. I remember back when every bus had ads on the left, right and rear except for 816-819.

Snorzac

103 is in need of an add to cover up all the paint it is missing

Spotted the Perisher Blue Ski Bus going down Northbourne Ave then up Barry Dr this morning. It had Deanes Buslines sign on the front &  abunch of school kids inside.

This one was just before 9am & she was mid 30's to late 40's. But I didn't stick around to see the end of it, but I did also think it was funny (her explanation).

The thing I want to know is: How did she get from Badimara St to Melrose Dr?

Also this morning the Route 60 took a new route to Woden:
as per normal to Hindmarsh
R-Hindmarsh
L-Melrose
unknown from here.

I think a bit of Callan St is shut for roadworks til the end of March. It's going to really slow the 300s down.

bubzie

i drive along callam st every day to get to work, and the only roadworks i can think of, is the carpark next to the police station is just..god only knows what.

..ick, i can just think of all the inconvedience..OH THE HUMANITY!

The Love Guru

Belco driver is correct, Callam st was due to be closed at the start of the week until the end of march. I think it is to allow the laying of pipes under the road for the construction of the huge housing complex that is to built between the police station and Hindmarsh Dr.

All 300 series routes will divert via Hindmarsh/Melsore/Launceston/Callam etc for Northbound and the reverse southbound. Buses from Weston Ck will also use Melrose etc...

Bus 400

According to TAMS Callam St is only closed from 20:00 to 05:30 from 16/02/09-30/03/09. This can be found at:
http://www.tams.act.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0003/138864/RC_Callam_Street_2009.pdf

bubzie

yeah, that'd be it.

yay, no inconvedience to us woden commuters!

lukeo25

does not my journey 2 college just a little diversion on my 300 won't me any harm yay

The Love Guru

There you go! No mention of times on the notice board!

Snorzac

758 has had the rear panel put back on, so it is no longer AOA with a corporate panel on it.

Irisbus Rider

Just following up with what Ryan has said, yeah, there is something going on and there has been for a long time. It's a conspiracy!

But seriously, I recently noticed the ads inside the buses dissapearing, and now it's happening with the exterior as well. It may have to do with the financial crisis, but generally speaking, this is Canberra, a relatively small city. The demand for ads wouldn't be that high around here anyway.

it's been like that for months now. it was mentioned on here too.

Snorzac

It is back to a green panel. I haven't seen that on here and I was the one who mentioned the loss of it originally.

lukeo25

does any1 know why platform 15 in woden is closed? it was closed when i got there 2day about 4ish and i had to go to platform 17 for my 23 which is a set down platform only

Bus 400

The 10:32 62 service from Woden had 2 buses doing this run yesterday. This was because one of the drivers was covering the run for the other driver who was meant to be in the depot.

Sir Pompously

Woden Platforms 5 and 15 are closed due to pavement works to extend the platforms outwards due to the height of the new MAN's scraping the roof of the interchange.

Bus 400

It will be lovely when the new Woden Bus Station East is opened.

lukeo25

ouch, thanks for that i was just curious why

That must be what happened to 377

It seems people can purchase personalised street signs. I was driving in a southern suburb a few months ago and spotted a street sign on a lightpole, pointing up somebody's driveway. It's now gone (the bracket remains) but google street view shows it still - a quick search of the name on white pages.com.au reveals a match.

And before you ask, yes, it was a genuine street sign.

Have you got a pic from street view :P? If you do not wish to post the name, I would love a PM. Thanks Ryan :)

Apparently a couple of years ago new shifts started and 2 buses showed up to start the same run, the drivers compared shift cards and they were indeed both meant to do the same run so they came to some arrangement about which of them would do it on which days and didn't tell management about their shift-building fail.

lol, how funny.

Here's that sign, Locki. House has been blacked out. Unfortunately its not too clear in street view.

Note: Attachment has expired.

Oops. I did routes 922 and 934 yesterday and went the usual way along Callam St without any problem. Maybe I should have read the notice in the depot a bit more closely.

Did management wake up to this or did it all just change when new shifts came into effect?

I went along Callam St at 22:00 on Thursday & it was all open. In fact it was quieter on Callam St then on Christmas Day

Actually there is. At the end. From 8pm to 5.30am. And as you may know by now, the first closure was last night.

Bus 400

To update Kambah diversion. Cars are being diverted, but buses are being let through the roadworks.

Rad D

377 has had the gas pod fully replaced the patch work has gone

Bus 400

I have just noticed that ACT Bus Gallery has a link on the ACT Archives website (http://www.archives.act.gov.au/home/image_gallery)

Buzz Killington

yeah, and we're in their link section too.

We're also coming soon to Pandora, which is a national web archiving project conducted by libraries around Australia.

A newish driver had fun with Bus 338 yesterday, the thing was that the front door wouldn't shut. So a techie ended up lifting the panel above the above & tightening  screw & it worked perfectly. Except his runs ended up being round 20-25 minutes behind time.

Snorzac

Every driver on the 73 today came into the bakery and got 2 cheese and bacon rolls and 1 sausage roll, every one on the 73, the same thing and not one was the same driver.

Busnerd

The more important question is, shouldn't you have been at school

lukeo25

moderation day that is why

Snorzac

yep that is right, I worked 8-4 and sent my supervisor home in the process.

Bus 400

Even though only Canberra Junior Girls Grammar & Canberra Boys Grammar where the only of the South Canberra private schools operating today, all the normal busses were out this afternoon waiting at Canberra Girls Grammar & when most busses arrived at St Clares empty most just changed to 000 & went to where there next run starts. A few others weren't as lucky though & had to do their run to the end with 5-20 students on board (instead of the usual 100+).

lukeo25

and i was at work experience 2day in blockbusters in erindale (what waste of a good day for going salvos hunting for star trek videos and old street maps of canberra and other things)

Buzz Killington

that explains why there were so many kids hanging around the canberra centre today

bubzie

and westfield woden.

and woden interchange.

...and woden in general...
*shudder*

Bus 400

& why Tuggeranong Hyperdome was even emptier....

Snorzac

Hawker was busy with belco kids wagging

Bus 400

Probably Tuggers kids trying to get as far away as possible from Tuggers. As belco kids always wag at Belco Interchange. That is why they are building the new bus station out the front.

Snorzac

Certain it was belco, the shirt is a giveaway

Yes that is the exact reason. Not the re development of the town centre, creating an ease of access bus service to the whole town centre, but the kids wagging in the Interchange.

And there is nothing wrong with Tuggeranong, however the less Bogans who roll down from the hood's up north wagging their classes the better.

But there is nothing out that way to warrant a Bus Station. The few college kids that get to school walk there easily & those from Gunners get off from across the road. Also not that many people catch the bus to CISAC. They could terminate at ABS & use the carpark to the north as layover/u-turn space.
