Motorcycle rider becomes ACT's ninth road fatality

ACT Policing is investigating a single vehicle incident on   Brindabella Road in Uriarra this afternoon (Friday, April 2) in which a   motorcycle rider was killed.

Police were called to the location, about three kilometres south of   the intersection between Uriarra Road and Brindabella Road around   12.25pm today.

Deceased at the scene was Scott Alan Dunkley, a 46-year-old man from   Holt. Early investigations of the scene by the Collision Investigation   and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) indicate that the motorcyclist,   travelling southbound, lost control of his machine on a right-hand bend   and it plunged down a three-metre embankment.

It is the ninth road fatality in the ACT this year.


A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
