This past weekend, I was operating rail replacements for TransdevTSL (formerly know as Shorelink) on a short shut down of the north shore line (between Gordon and Berowra via Hornsby). I was operating route 48 all stations from Gordon to Hornsby to Berowra and 49 from Gordon to Hornsby express.

On Saturday, I had Scania K94UB low floor with Volgren body #107.
On Sunday, I was meant to have Scania K94UB low floor with Volgren body #111 (the last one and meant to be the fastest) but due to some complications, I ended up taking MAN 16.240, #16. After 2/3 of my shift, I had my very first Scania K230UB low floor with Volgren body #116.

The K230 was so different to the K94, although on the outside, they look the same. The K230 has car sized pedals, the buttons look different and are in different places and the handbrake is designed/used differently. I absolutely loved driving this Scania (as I do all other Scanias) but this was something I have never driven before.

The order of fastest to slowest is meant to be L94UB, K94UB then K230 but I can't feel any differences. Luckily the brakes are awesome on all 3 of them.

At TransdevTSL, we have numbers:
83-88, 94-99 Scania L94UB low floor with Custom Coaches body (12 in total)
100-105 Scania K94UB low floor with Custom Coaches body (6 in total)
106-111 Scania K94UB low floor with Volgren body (6 in total)
112-121 Scania K230 low floor with Volgren body (10 in total so far)

The MAN was such a pleasure to drive. It made brilliant noises and was very responsive for an old girl. The steering lock is not the best and the wheelbase is long so it felt like I was driving a 14.5m but it was a lot of fun.

No photos were taken at Gordon as it's crap lighting during the day and night if you're the driver.

Here are the comparisons of the K94UB and K230 and MAN 16.240 cabins and the recently changed new seat covers in #16.

Awesome photos.. my favourite is the first shot of 107, which is a very nice looking bus (despite only having a front door..)

Stellar photos as usual! They're simply top notch.
Favourite shots are of 116 at Hornsby Interchange.

The dash of the K230s looks so much better than the L94 dash in my opinion.

And those 16.240s, they definately sound unique.

Glad to here you enjoyed the weekend, looks like you had a few great vehicles to drive!
