Hello, I thought I might start posting news of when a new bus model is released of any interest.

This one is probably of interest to Todd.

Trux recalls the iconic Ansett brand of the sixties and early seventies with this latest release of the Ansair Flxible Clipper. Ansett owned the Ansair coachworks which built the Clipper in Australia throughout the fifties. This fine example from Trux depicts the coach used on the airport run between the Ansett terminal and the city. Most of us have an Ansett story to tell, so expect this Ansett branded Flxible Clipper to be a hot seller.

The cost is $42.95

Ansett brought the Australian rights to the Flexi Clipper. Ansair made the Austtralian body for both Ansett Airways and Ansett Pioneer.

There were heaps of them in Canberra for a run just before Christmas.

Pioneer had some very similar looking buses - remember seeing my grandparents off on these Pioneer Scenic Clippers from their terminus near the TAA offices on Bank St, opposite Adelaide Railway Station.

I always thought they were a fine looking bus - the ultimate in road motor modernity in those distant times!

This will bring back some memories for you then. ;)

Terrific - thanks. Looks like the photos were taken in the Riverina town of Lockhart, right?

PS: I'm not sure of the accurancy of the blue shown in these pics - my recollection is that Pioneer used more of a steel blue when those buses were in regular service.

Was taken in Junee but also got some photos of it park in Wagga, totally unexpected as I went to Junee for the Roundhouse which was closed on the day I headed out there (doh!)!

Pity it wasn't a clear sunny day and the modern cars were there as it would have looked good as a B/W photo.

Ah yes, thought that Broadway Hotel looked familiar - has been nicely restored externally. Pity the roundhouse was closed - hope you get to see it another time.
