Title: Qantas A380 Incident-Sydney Main Runway Closed
Post by: Snorzac on March 31, 2010, 11:26:43 PM
Can't find a media report on it yet but at about 8pm tonight a Qantas A380 registered VH-OQC made a hard landing subsequently blowing two tires. The axle has then twisted and gauged into the runway (34L/16R, the main one). The aircraft is still at the end of the runway and it may be there well into the early hours of tomorrow morning. The aircraft was operating QF32 from London Hethrow via Singapore. All passengers were off loaded and returned by bus to the terminal.

Expect the Qantas bashing to begin.....

Hey, come-on Lemon. It's TYRES in Australia, not TIRES.

TIRES is Yankee-speak!

You never heard any of this crap before they started outsourcing jobs to other countries. Cost cutting everywhere. They can still call themselves the only large airline in the world to not have a crash but they are having way too many incidents. But still, not bad for the world's 2nd oldest airline.

They're lying. They've never had a JET airliner crash. They had a bunch of prop plane crashes in the early days:
