The Featured Bus for May/June 2015 is Bus 004 – a Hino AC140K mini bus
Bus 004 was a Hino AC140K which operated for ACTION between 1996 and 2013.
This bus was used by the “Special Needs Transport” (SNT) service which carries school students with a disability. This service was previously operated by Totalcare Industries, a government-owned service delivery company. Following a breakup of Totalcare in 1996, operation of SNT was transferred to ACTION together with its fleet of Hino AC140K and Nissan Civilian mini-buses.
This bus was new to Totalcare in 1989 and was originally registered as MO-136.
Bus 004 was loaned to the Olympic Roads Transport Authority in 2000 and was used to transport athletes during the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games.
It was withdrawn from service in March 2013 and was replaced by a Fuso Rosa.
