The Featured Bus for December 2011 is Bus 464 – a Scania K320UB 6×2*4
Bus 464 is a Scania K320UB 6×2*4 (Euro V diesel) bus with Custom Coaches “CB60 Evo II” body.
Delivered to ACTION on 15 February 2010, it was the first of 26 Scania 14.5 metre Steerable Tag (“STAG”) buses to be delivered between February 2010 and April 2012.
The K320UB 6×2*4 were the first 14.5 metre buses purchased by ACTION. With a passenger capacity of 101, these vehicles were originally intended to replace the Renault PR180.2 (Mk1) buses. However, restrictions were placed on the roads on which they could travel, so while they were able to provide increased capacity on busy routes they could not fully replace the articulated bus fleet which had no such restrictions.
Bus 464 was launched to the media on 16 March 2010 and entered service on 27 April 2010.
