The Belconnen Busway provided a buses with a direct, dedicated link to the town centre for over 30 years.
Since their introduction in 1975, the bunker shelter has become synonymous with Canberra. Designed by architect Clem Cummings in 1974 for the National Capital Development Commission, close to 500 were installed around Canberra.
As of 1 September 2014, there are 2,527 active bus stops serviced by the ACTION Network.
ACTION’s southern depot is located in the Tuggeranong suburb of Greenway, and is the only depot with CNG fuelling facilities.
Lathlain Street Station opened in May 2009 following the decomissioning of the Belconnen Interchange. It closed on 15 November 2010 after being replaced by the permanent Westfield Station.
Belconnen’s first interchange was not located in the town centre, but rather in the suburb of Higgins.
Cameron Avenue Station opened in May 2009 following the de-comissioning of the Belconnen Interchange. It closed on 15 November 2010.
On 24 May 2009, BUS 300 departed Tuggeranong Bus Interchange on a Route 900 bound for Belconnen. This bus was the last bus to ever service the Belconnen Interchange.
