Registration/Fleet Numbers
Number plates on Canberra buses are from the block of plates allocated to the Commonwealth Government. Buses carry number plates commencing with the letters ‘ZIB’ – Z for Commonwealth, I for Interior and B for Bus. Canberra buses do not carry fleet numbers – the numeral portion of the number plate is official regarded as being the fleet number. In the fleet list the registration number for any vehicle can be obtained by prefixing the fleet number with ZIB.
