Belconnen Interchange bites (and makes) the dust
« on: August 26, 2009, 12:04:57 AM »
Well, it is steadily dissapearing from Belconnen Town Centre, here are a few photos from Thursday the 20th.

The view from the Checkers food van.

A view from the overpass.

A view from the overpass.

A view of the overpass.

Looking up at the old site of the interchange.

Looking back down.

Initially, the only reason I got these photos is because I got a tip-off they were destroying the old interchange tower.

The red B light continues to shine.

A dusty view from the front of the ABS building.

Another angle.

It's gone for good.

Another empty view of things.

Thanks for viewing, comments welcome.

Wow, quite a transformation....and the old tower looks like down town Baghdad!

Just think of all that asbestos!

noticed since new year that all that remains of the Interchange is the northbound downramp - the one that ran at the back of the layover..... I wondered if they might keep the ramp to serve some purpose in the new set-up. Time will tell.

I've been going up to belco a few times this new year to check what remains of the old interchange, its a pretty depressing site. Will have to take some pics next time i'm up there
