Bus 400

which Cemetery was classified as The Canberra Cemetery?

smitho

I'm pretty sure it was referring to what we now call the Woden Cemetery off Yamba Drive...

Bus 400

Would that mean that main building as you enter Woden Cemetery could of been a waiting shed? The few times I've been in it it partly looks like it.

Yes, am confident it was....although it would have been a multi-purpose facility. There are two ante rooms on either side of the waiting area; these were occupied by departmental administrative staff in the past (with the larger possibly also used for small gatherings in the distant past).

There are functioning toilets at the rear, still available to visitors. The only Canberra bus shelter equipped with toilets????
