Title: McDonalds
Post by: Snorzac on February 02, 2010, 10:33:07 PM
Starting tomorrow McDonalds will be offering special lunch packs (didn't read into that so not sure what they are) and waffle cones. I believe they are only on sale for a limited time from tomorrow until March 23.

RiotACT are reporting that a development application has been lodged for a Maccas to be located opposite the servo at Nicholls.

Probably a good location - right on the highway as people get back into town..

It will be owned by the Sidaros group, which may otherwise be known as 'Hangside'.

My store owner, Hani, owns Emu Bank, Westfield Belconnen, Charny and Gunmac, with the intention of opening this one and taking over the Weston store

The store will be opening early in the New Year (possibly even December) and will be located next to the servo at Gold Creek.

I have decided that I will be taking the opportunity to become a crew trainer and plan on moving to the new store when it opens.

and didn't joe retire after he sold his stores? I'm fairly sure the majura one will be run by one of the southside licensees whose name escapes me at the moment.

Since the only McDonald's owner is the one out at Conder, could he be the one running it?

But yeh, Craig who owns/operates Conder, Woden, Fyshwick and Manuka will indeed have Majura as well.

New Menu Options from the 28th:
Breakfast: Three Varieties of Bagels will become availiable
Grand Chicken Burger: Pretty much a chicken deluxe with Onion relish
Chicken Deluxe: will now have an avocado sauce
Angus the Great: Mayo, swiss cheese, mushrooms and angus beef

The advertising for this range has been shot at Belco and Charnwood (well the crew things have been anyway).

What they really need is the Chicken Club. It is really, really good. Good to see Bagels entering the menu, Grand Chicken sounds yuck with relish (hate relish), Avocado Sauce I am not complaining about at all, and I will pass on Angus the Great.

Gold Creek welcomes the golden arches

Released 15/04/2011

A new McDonald's restaurant providing 80 local jobs opened today at the Gold Creek Village, and Chief Minister Jon Stanhope joined the local franchisee to mark the occasion.

"This restaurant will provide jobs to around 80 employees on opening and a great opportunity for skill development, flexible employment opportunities and a foundation for employees to achieve significant milestones throughout their careers," Mr Stanhope said.

"This investment in the growing Gungahlin area will have positive flow on effects for the surrounding businesses and attractions.

"The Gold Creek Village has become a well-established business and tourist precinct in Gungahlin, providing specialised goods and services to nearby residents and visitors," Mr Stanhope said.

McDonald's is well known across Australia for not only providing local employment opportunities but also through its enormous contribution towards the fabric of society by supporting community programs, local sporting initiatives and charities like Ronald McDonald House.

"The organisation has long been recognised as an excellent employer which invests heavily in the training and development of its employees, encouraging strong work ethic, teamwork, diversity in the workplace and personal development," Mr Stanhope said.

Mr Stanhope said the ACT Government would continue to support commercial investment in the Gungahlin area, through the introduction of infrastructure, services and public places, to meet the demand required through growth.

"I congratulate Mr Hani Sidaros with the opening of the restaurant in the Gold Creek Village and for his contribution to the local community," Mr Stanhope said.

Regarding the last post bagels are staying.

A new range of menu options will be launched on Wednesday, these will include a new dinner box, the introduction of 'Mates Meals', McWings and the permanent(?) reintroduction of McBites if they aren't already back at your local store.
Title: Re: McDonalds
Post by: Busnerd on May 23, 2011, 09:58:28 AM
Yes the new dinner box is apparently a chicken dinner box which will have McChickens, Mcbites etc. in it.

Most stores have mcbites back already yet there is no signs advertising them except tiny signs on the drive thru, and most staff don't even know they have them back.

There are two smoothies, 'Wild Berry' and 'Strawberry and Banana' along with two frappes Chocolate and Coffee.

The glasses are better than the Coca Cola yoyo's that were given away. You can yo them once & then struggle to wind them up.

But then again, you were given a yoyo if you bought 2x24 can packs from Woolworth's or if you bought 2x600ml bottles from little shops like Quick & Go in the City.

I think they were replicas of the Coca Cola glasses which used to be stocked by milk bars and delis when customers could buy Coke by the glass (for consumption on the premises)....cheaper than buying a bottle to take away, especially in Adelaide, where you had to pay the deposit levy (threepence or sixpence) if you took the bottle away from the shop.

I'd say they're correct, it is in Lyneham.

Agreed that it's not within the current boundaries of Lyneham but Kenny is not yet defined in ACT MAPi so technically it's not in any Suburb ATM.

Quite true, I am unsure as to why it is not yet marked on Mapi though considering there are establishments out there (Albeit not housing). I think it is safe to assume though that the boundary marking on mapi would represent Kenny.

We can all take that how we like.

Where else but Canberra can you tweet a question to the planning Minister on a Tuesday night about a suburb boundary and get a response three minutes later?!

Looks as though McDonald's Erindale will be building a brand new restaurant on the southern part of the carpark. There was an article about that one in the Chronicle the other day. Waves Carwash has finally gotten the go-ahead. Interesting to see that it included some residential development. Not sure who in their right mind would want to live there?

The planners and developers have gone mad if there is going to be housing in thee. Really if you want people living in the town centres fine, but the industrial parts MUST remain industrial.

Works at Maccas Erindale have almost been completed, just a carpark and some landscaping to be done on the site of the old restaurant. The location of China Tea House is now a carpark and the new store has been open for a couple of weeks in a new Create Your Taste style. There is a work bench where you can watch the staff make your CYT burger with all the ingredients on display; there are also many pot plants too. This store also has a long awaited McCafe :-)

Weston is set to get another McDonald's at the new petrol site on Cotter Road.

Included in this is a Caltex petrol station & Canberra's first drive thru Oporto.

Of course this is pending planning approval.

Eh, we have plenty of those, some are even Oporto/Caltex co-branded. My local standalone store has a drive thru, it doesn't have a box, rather a human in the ordering and separate meal collection windows

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I knew this was mentioned somewhere (how good is my memory). So a building actually has gone up on this site. Looks like the Waves idea never took off & looks to be a servo & other shops.

While not Maccas related, I wonder if someone from Melrose Dr will move down & sell up to John McGrath of a unit developer? Phillip could be the new Braddon.
