Hi guys,
To mark the fact we're nearly at the end of an exciting year thats seen so much happen, a special dinner is being organised.
Date: Saturday 25th October
Location: Hogs Breath Cafe, Baileys Arcade, London Cct, Civic
Cost: Bill would be divided amongst group so we pay even share
Time: 7.30pm
Myself
Ken
Sir Pompously
Norbert
Constantly Leighking
Chris Guru
Rob(us) and his significant other
I am hoping that martin, carrie and her husband, MAN18.310/Macca, belcodriver and some others can attend so that it can be a night to remember, a nice chance to catch up and all meet each other.
Anyone thats interested please post in this thread.
you have the date wrong it is the 25th on the saturday, also i might be interested (if mum and dad let me)
Not sure what happened to what I posted this morning something happened to the board because everything that was posted last night is unread for me even though I viewed it all last night. What I said was Dinner is no good for me since I am only 13 my mum is very unlikely to let me go out with people she has never met. Lunch would be better for me as she is working that day and I could get to lunch and back with out her noticing. But I do understand that lunch may not be convenient.
BTW lukeo25 is right the 26th is a Sunday which would rule me out completely rule me out as I have a family function that day.
I might come, will have to see if I have anything on that night. The only people i have met are Irisbus Rider, Pompously and Chris Guru

And me briefly, twice come to think of it.
The 25/26 eh, I might be in Sydney for RLWC Ill have to double check that..
Yes, sorry 25th.
And yes Matt, as an AOA up here suggests, that opening ceremony for the world cup is on that weekend.
So so far it should be:
Myself
Ken
Norbert
Constantly Leighking
Chris Guru
Robert
Ryan
Todd
And id love for carrie and martin to come and maybe belco driver if you want to meet us all, and yeah, anyone else who is old enough or allowed to be let out to come.

That is
Sir Pompously to you, young man. Will be good to see, from what I am informed there is also an aviation event on the Sunday which I will post about later for those who may wish to attend, when it comes out as official.

Why buy the cow, when you can get the milk for free?
Anywho, enough of the Bovine analogies, and back to the fantastic dinner that will be provided to us for a nice price.
im out..mate's party.
Mark me down as available (so far I'm not rostered to work that night). To the most of you that don't know me (with the exception of Sir Pompously), the name is Ed.
Again, im taking ideas as well, ideas ive come up with are southern cross club, hogs breath. John, who isn't coming suggested king o malleys, but its not really that great there. So not sure what else there is around the city thats nice and cheap.
Not sure if we'd have to ring up and book in advance or not, but i will say the cut off date is the thursday the 23rd at 5pm so i can get the proper numbers of who will be attending.
Not sure if we should do anything extra on the night like lame games or anything like that. but a dinner will probably be fine and im sure we'll all get to talking from there.
the labor club near the carousel (where Angus and Robertson used to be i believe, near Miranda hifi) isn't too bad. At least one person would need to be a member though.
Oh yeah, one of my old school friends' father was the head chef there, really good food apparently. Probably a bias opinion :P
I understand that some people are coming from Sydney for this. So maybe for those who can't make it for the dinner there could be something done during the day so people that can't make it can meet some new faces.
I hope little John has a good excuse for not attending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can understand that it will be a hard week after the election, a lot of wakes to attend :P :P :P
John has a, how do we say it, 'Oh yeah you know I have yeah CIT I mean c'mon excursion' that day from what I have been told. Either that or his mum is still punishing him from when Chris and Myself led him astray one evening when he was supposed to be home at 12...... noon.
Not sure what can be organised re: lunch time as we are busy both saturday and sunday day time, and will be out gunzelling all monday
lol to all :p
yes, unfortunately i do have to go on an excursion with cit to jervis bay all weekend. how i*****d. send my regards to all that attend.
What about Sammy's Kitchen on Bunda Street. If you have enough people their banquets are great value.
thats true, and they do a mean honey chicken.
Well we have to also fit in with Mathew's likings. McDonald's anyone? :P There are a few Thai places around, and others including Japanese and Italian, however that would be some of my suggestions.
Just looking at my Entertainment book, I get discounts at a few places. I will scan the page and post it here.
Here are the places I get a discount at.

my mums got that book its pretty good
another idea is Casino Canberra
'The Grill'
Looks like it has some formal food and also some casual style food like fish n chips and cafe food like burgers and sandwiches etc.
So thats an idea, which caters for the fussy (me only) and the not so fussy (everyone else)

scroll down to CASINO BRASERIE MENU
i think the stuff at the top is a little too laa dee daa
im pretty sure i rival you in the fussy eating stake.
casino sounds good though.
I'll probably come but I don't want to make a firm commitment just yet.
Edit - Party at my cousin's place that night so it's looking pretty unlikely I'll make it.
As long as it's not Chinese, Busnerd should eat it, lol.
Oh, and no onions.
Sorry I'm not able to come, but thanks for the invite. I hope you all have a great time together. :)
isnt looking very big, theres probably only one person off the board coming that we haven't met.
Come on guys.
ok, its down to either hogs breath or the casino.
Time will now be 7.30
I will also have to decline.
gee, no one seems very interested.
Final list is looking like
Myself
Ken
Norbert
Constantly Leighking
Sir Pompously
acvbn? i think thats the username
Chris Guru
Robert
People to be named and shamed
John - due to a CIT excursion :P
Table for 8 please...
How about 'Richard Vernon' he said he was coming, I think.

So what is the final time and place? Somebody's been saying Hog's Breath or Casino and the time being 1930 on Saturday. Has that being finalised yet?
Well no one has even discussed anywhere else with me so hogs breath 7.30
Not sure if we have to book or 'what the go is'
there will be 8 definately attending, and maybe 1 or 2 more...so that should be fine for one table but we might ring up and ask during the day anyway
