Title: Bus movements and other changes
Post by: Buzz Killington on June 19, 2008, 08:33:36 PM
Can anyone (drivers) shed some light on this post from ATDB?

Quote979 is now at Belconnen, thats confirmed. I'm glad too, that bus is great!

And Various Darts have moved to Belconnen too? It's not confirmed what fleet numbers they are, but it would be good if more light could be shed on the matter.....

Lol, 979 is definately at Belconnen, and I think 143 to 148 have been moved to B from T.

But, yeah, please, Chris or Martin, more info, please!

Yes i can confirm that 979 is currently at Belconnen.

I'm unsure of the darts that were transfered as i didn't know which ones were there before!

Also, 977 & 978 are in the new 'going your way' AOA livery. Supposed to be another 2 buses to come in that livery.

wow, really?

are 977 and 978 at Belco also?
Title: Re: Bus movements and other changes
Post by: Irisbus Rider on June 20, 2008, 06:26:52 PM
977 and 978 are still at Tuggy, but in the livery.

948 is also "Going your way".
Title: Re: Bus movements and other changes
Post by: The Love Guru on June 21, 2008, 12:34:56 AM
Final update on the 'Going your way' AOA's, we now have 758, 899, 947, 948, 977 & 978 in that livery. From what i understand these are the only buses that will be done.

Also have it on good authority that the first MAN will be here next week.

758 eh? cool!

bout time the MANs showed up! whoever gets the first decent photo is guaranteed photo of the month!

saw an iris at tuggers depot this arvo, pretty sure it was 319.

i thought it went back to belco?
Title: Re: Bus movements and other changes

A number of Belconnen shifts have meal breaks at Tuggeranong depot, this may explain 319's presance at the depot. I'm 99.9% sure its still at Belconnen.

saw it again, 11.45pm on Saturday night, parked in the same spot (between the sheds and the workshops)

I am pretty sure that a few of T depots MK2 have moved to Belco. I have sen them on B shifts with B drivers. They include 956, 959 and 960. I wouldn't be surprised if 957 and 958 are also at B. Can any of the drivers confirm?
Title: Re: Bus movements and other changes
Post by: Snorzac on October 15, 2008, 07:49:28 PM
All most certain that these have moved. I saw 960 again on a B run with B driver, I also saw 958 on a B run with a B driver.

yep, good spotting, a driver of belco has confirmed that 956 to 959 are now at belco, and it's safe to say 960 is there too.

I have a feeling that 752 and 754 have swapped. 752 is in 754s normal spot and 754 is no where to be seen.

Can someone please have a look over the newly updated fleet lists on Bus Aus to double check I haven't missed anything

Sorry but just looked at fleetlists on ACT Bus and according to that Belco still has Scanias. I also believe that 143-145 are at Belco, in fact I know that

Possible moves from B to T depot:
946: Spotted out at Tuggies with fueler a few weeks ago
948: Spotted parked at Tuggies depot today along with other tuggies .s, nothing to say for certain but it had 66 on the desto, considering 948 is a Belco A shed bus and they are trying to make room there for the 14.5s it is safe to say that if any buses were to move this would be a candidate.

I have nothing solid to base this on other than seeing it do a school run in Fadden: 949 may have now transferred to T depot. More later when I find out for sure.

I'm sure I had 870 from Tuggy Depot one afternoon last week. May be it is a recent transfer. I'll try and confirm that for you.
I saw 870 yesterday being driven by a Tuggy driver; and I've not seen it around Belconnen depot for weeks. I'm satisfied that it has moved depots. The  next question is will there be/have there been any more moves. 871 ? ? ? ?

Just noticed a discrepancy between the Wiki pages and the Fleet summary: 862 and 863 are listed in the summary as Belconnen buses, but in the fleet list and Wiki pages as Tuggeranong buses. I'm not sure which is correct.

Today, I was passing Tuggeranong depot and 490 was been moved out of the way. Then the ACTION tow truck turned up and ZIB 050 was been set up for being towed. Therefore, I suspect its probably moving depot. (possibly Woden?)

I think this is a better spot to say this instead of the general discussion I think bus 872 might be a tuggers depot bus, as early this morning I saw this bus being operated by a tuggers bassed driver on a tuggeranong shift. May have moved depot as there is a need for more std's at tuggers i think

710 has been at Belconnen Workshops for a week or more. So not a transfer.

On the other hand, 467 and 423 are almost ready to go into service.

Does anyone know if Bus 902 is missing from Belconnen Depot? As I spotted it dead running into Tuggeranong Depot this week.

Bus 765 was spotted still in service this morning, so unless today was its last day no more decommissioning's with Bus 424 entering service.

No. You don't move buses en masse prior to a new network starting just so you can withdraw older buses. You do it because you need more buses.

Does that mean that with more space at Belconnen there will be more purchases or some buses from Woden will go there if Im completely wrong please ignore my ignorance.

Is 879 at T yet? As it was seen by myself and another member today; with who we think is a T driver at the helm.
Also, 100 was seen on a T shift driven by a T driver today.

A perfectly valid question! Yes, ACTION are still expecting new buses (approx 40+), most of which will go to Belconnen. This transfer is (most likely) to even out the bus:shift ratio at each depot, as Belconnen have received many new buses over the past few months. And it could be possible that Tuggeranong have received a few more shifts as well, and require additional buses, I'm not 100%. Open to correction on that.

The buses expected to be transferred from B to T are: 880, 881, 126 - 131. In return, Belconnen will get 145 and 770 will be withdrawn. 878 and 879 are believed to have already been transferred this week.

This makes the number of buses at each depot B: 214 / T: 217. Although this might change when new buses are released (includes 2 Tuggy buses with accident damage).

Those Redex buses (396-402) go particularly well, although one or two of them have non-matching seat material, which is a pity.

From memory, it is Iris bus-type seat coverings which have been used on ad hoc seat re-coverings. Looks odd.

Tugg buses allegedly to be put in store at Woden were lined up against the Tugg Depot back fence today, these being 120, 123, 122, 121 and 125.
Plus standards 861R, 859R, 857, 862R, 871R (R = bike rack bus). Not sure what, if any, Tugg midi buses will go to Woden Depot for storage.

That's really stupid, those would be better off at Belconnen as I here they were short this afternoon. They should only be storing the darts as they really have no use, a standard bus can at least take a decent load!

But why not 858, 860, 863 & 124 as well?

Also taking into account AOQ951's sightings at Woden Depot, the following vehicles will be marked as withdrawn on the Wiki:

120 - 125
132 - 140
857 - 859
861 - 862

Total of 20 buses.

903 has been at Tuggeranong for a few years now.

I recall in the late 90s, Belconnen had 881-894 and 896-915 and Tuggeranong had 895. Around 2000, 896-903 got sent to Tuggeranong. In 2009, 895-903 went back to Belconnen, although 903 returned a few days later.

BUS 015 has joined 021 on the back fence at Woden Depot. Previously, 015 had spent much of its time at Belconnen Workshops, presumably being fixed. 015 is now assumed withdrawn, but like 021 this has yet to be confirmed.

This raises the possibility of new SNT buses. I could not found anything on the ACT Procurement website though.

I heard something from someone like a month ago about new SNT buses. I think they may have even picked which ones they want already. Apparently there is nothing similar to the Hinos available anymore. The Hinos can fit 3 wheelchairs. The Rosas and I believe all other ~20 seater buses can only fit two and still keep an acceptable number of seats.

More SNT movements: two new Rosas with ACTION logos are parked at Belconnen Depot. Based on rego searches, there are four new Rosas 213036-213039.

Hino Bus 007 is also at Belconnen, presumed to be undergoing decommissioning. Not sure where 014 is.

The remaining Hinos at Woden depot (006 & 010) departed a few weeks ago.

So this seems to be the end of the Hino AC140Ks. Might also mean two older Rosas will also be withdrawn (211338 & 211339).

Still unsure about what is happening with the SNT fleet. 213-036 now at Woden and appears to be in service; -037 still being fitted out at B depot.

Hinos 007 & 014 are at Woden, but are parked away from the Rosas. So they may have been withdrawn, but, if so, why haven't they been sent to Pickles or Sims for disposal? Perhaps they are being kept as spares until another Rosa or two is delivered.

211-338 is verified as withdrawn and may turn up at Pickles next month.

Can now verify that 308 has returned, but not yet back in service. 301 was sent off in its place.

308 should return to service this week. Meanwhile, 305 was sighted departing for Melbourne last week and 301 has returned.

Not sure yet if these are destined for ACTION / SNT, but 4 new -ish Rosas have appeared: 215-246 to 215-249.

UPDATE: Hino BUS-014 has been withdrawn, so very likely these Rosas are intended for ACTION.

Bus 007 now at Belconnen Depot, presumably for withdrawal. Have yet to see any new Rosas come in for fitout, so SNT may be running without any spare buses.

All 4 of the new Rosas are now at Woden Depot. In addition to the 2 Hinos, 211-348 and 211-349 have been withdrawn; 211-346 & 211-347 are now presumed to be the spares.

Irisbus 305 has returned from Melbourne; don't know which one has now been sent off.

Bus 119 was transferred to Tuggeranong a few weeks ago. 878 has moved (back) to be Tuggeranong trainer and 860 has been withdrawn.

135 has gone back into storage at Woden.

I think that's all recent movements.

This makes sense given that 119 has been withdrawn: 118 moved to T depot recently (within the last week maybe).

468 has transferred to Belconnen for Network 14. There may be more transfers to come - in particular Darts to Woden - but no sightings as yet.

Wondered if 945 is the only PR2 to be given the seat fabric makeover so far?

I assume this is the upgrade to older buses mooted as part of the Network 14 announcements.

Recall seeing a Dart and possibly a PR3 with the new fabric treatment...wasn't one or more of the Centenary Darts done out?

140 and 142 have the rainbow seat covers from the days of the 100. Not sure about 141.

In terms of PR3's, I think I heard 992 and one of the later 99# series (possibly 998) have it too.

Yep: 141 and either 145 or 146 now also done.

992 got a makeover: its original brown fabric replaced by a light blue/grey. Also in 999.

Not 100% certain, but most likely it was visiting.

However, what is certain is that some Belconnen Depot PR100.2 Mk2s have transferred to Tuggeranong. But exactly how many is not known. 967 968 969 979 980 and 981 are believed to have transferred; 963 is known to still be at Belconnen.

Also 981 now with "Rainbow Pride" seats.

966 ("roller derby" bus) is another PR2 now at Tuggeranong.

Any news of transfers for Network 14.1/15 (or whatever we are calling it!)?

Pure speculation. Some stags will move but numbers aren't known.
On a side note, 568 has disappeared from B workshops, make of that what you will.

Yep. Any transfers at all is just speculation at this stage.

As is my assumption that there will be a mass withdrawal of B depot Renaults next week.

Things will be clearer by next week.

I believe it was said B would need an extra dart and T would need one less. So it makes sense given the 7A

363 was also operating a belco iris shift today (#31 due at Cohen 5:09 pm.) doubt a gas bus would change depot though.

And you mentioned 978 on a B shift, saw it on a 163 today in the city 5:32pm. Not sure if this shift it belco though.

I'm guessing it was kept at Belconnen Depot till now as they removed its parts, since the accident.

Been a while since Irisbus movements to/from Melbourne have been reported.

There was a sighting of 312 heading towards Melbourne on the back of a low loader yesterday. The truck had earlier delivered 307 back to Belconnen Depot.

Has also been a while since any significant bus transfers have occurred: 598 & 599 have been transferred from Tuggeranong to Belconnen this week.

I assume they were initially sent to Tuggeranong to enable the Darts to be re-allocated for the City Loop. Now that 604, 605 & 606 are in service, they were able to be sent over to Belconnen. (There could be a third transfer, but it will depend on where the next withdrawal will occur.)

Also: Buses 897 and 986 have departed Canberra for their new owners this week.

As is now noted in ACT Bus Fleetwiki (http://www.actbus.net/fleetwiki/index.php?title=Monthly_Movements#2016_-_2020), all of the PR100.2s which re-entered service in February have been sent back to the retirement home at Tuggeranong.

With one exception: 935 has been kept in service and 954 has been withdrawn in its stead.

There is a good chance many of these buses will again be reinstated for the start of Network 19 (though probably not 954).

Can confirm all those Renaults are back in action. Have seen all of them now.

Haven't noticed any transfers. The usual MAN suspects (400-402 plus 441-445) all seem to still be hanging around the southside mainly so presumably they're all still based at Tuggeranong. Artic and STAG transfers might not be very easy to spot now given they're all predominantly running just on Rapid routes now, it seems.
