BUS DRIVERS TAKE ACTION AND SUPPORT
YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING WITH CANCER
ACTION bus drivers will be making more than a fashion statement when they glam
up their uniforms with a coloured bandanna to support National Bandanna Day
tomorrow Friday 28 October 2011.
“There will be over 200 bus drivers across Canberra proudly wearing a CanTeen
bandana to support young people living cancer and we are encouraging commuters
to buy a bandanna and do the same,” said James Roncon, Director of ACTION.
“ACTION is very proud to support such a positive community organisation. We hope
that the splash of colour on Canberra’s buses will help spread the message of
CanTeen’s National Bandanna Day and raise awareness of their programs, services
and resources.
“Wearing a CanTeen bandanna is a powerful gesture that shows young people who
are confronted with a cancer diagnosis that they are supported.
“We are encouraging all Canberrans to get involved and buy a bandanna to raise
awareness and show you care.”
CanTeen’s bandannas sell for $4, pens $3 and the lapel pins $5.
