Post by: smitho on January 12, 2014, 11:29:52 PM
Extensive teee clearing occurred last week on a parcel of land adjoining the Yarralumla Creek immediately north of the Launceston St / Callam St traffic lights.

It appears that this is for the planned relocated Woden bus layover....

CORRECTION:  Current plan is for the layover to be located on the existing car park site on the south-eastern side of Phillip Oval (opposite the Hellenic Club) known as Block 13.

The layover is also intended to serve as a major bus stop at a secondary entrance to the Oval to be used for major events.

As part of the layover project, Irving St would be extended south to form a four way intersection at Callam St.

The site currently being cleared on the opposite side of the Yarralumla Creek may be a replacement car park or for Canberra College requirements.
