I was interested could someone give me a list of the current STAG approved runs?
The ones I know of are...
300 Series (300,313,314,315,318,319,343)
200 Series (200 and 202 only)
2, 3, 4, 5 (I think - they were on the old network - not much has changed so I'd say they could be still)
7 (not sure about the Museum bit)

The 8 says it is Steer-Tag accessible according to driver lefts and rights.

think 1 is only not STAG approved because of the roundabout at Lyneham shops, otherwise would be STAG approved as it's mostly 3+8 (kinda)
Approval has nothing to do with roundabouts or road design. Routes 16 and 17 are ideally suited road wise for STAG use but are not approved.
Now that Erindale had been fixed the is not a run on the network that couldn't be STAG approved. They are just as maneuverable as any 12.5m bus.
If Roads ACT used the technical data for the buses instead of just lumping them with b-doubles then we would have all route availability.
On a side note, no coach in excess of 12.5m can feasibly operate in the ACT under the current approved routes. There is technically no access to many of the sightseeing attractions that you see these restricted access buses at everyday.
It appears ACTION are the only operator to actually have the correct approvals to operate restricted access buses/coaches.

Meaning it goes around (or over like all other buses) that stupidly small roundabout...and dodge to signs on the traffic islands either side...
I'd put money that it will get around without hassle. Those roundabouts are built to be driven over (the lower bit).
Those Gunghalin runs such as a 51 would be near impossible for a STAG however I think they should be approved on the 16 and 17.
Not correct. Pretty much anywhere a rigid 12.5m can go the STAGs will get through. The only time you have an issue is at really sharp turns where you need to drive the wheelbase into an intersection before you start your turn.
Remember, just because a route is STAG approved doesn't mean that any of its runs are STAG operated. For Network 14, STAGs are almost only run on Blue Rapids (plus local variations such as 13, 14, 18, 19, 43 etc.), 200 and 250. Despite being approved, I don't know of any Xpressos (other than 705) that are on STAG shifts, and there are only a few suburban routes (12, 39 & 40).

What would you say then, if I told you that the old route 770 was STAG approved - which included the said Longmore / Langdon intersection?

Yes, it is: Macgregor PS deviation is approved.
I don't think the 21/22 is a stag approved route due to the tight corner from Plunkett St onto Maclaurin Crescent in Chifley especially with all the cars which park on the street.
Interesting that the old 770 was approved. The Langdon/Longmore intersection wouldn't be much of an issue given it travelled straight through it. The turn from Gaunson into Langdon was rarely made without the trailer of an artic clipping a kerb, and the Bugden/Bramston intersection often resulted in buses letting the cars go first, or the cars stopping well back from the stop line.
You people don't listen real well!
Approval has nothing to do with the tightness of turns unless the bus has to cross to the wrong side of road.
Has more to do with bridges and runs that ACTION have applied to have approved.
The roads on the route are what is approved, so no matter what run the bus is on it can use said roads.
If 7 is not fully STAG approved, how do you explain this?
Wrong desto, driver was scrolling through destos when lights changed and stopped on Route 7. Covering a breakdown. Deliberately trying to mislead the ACTBUS nuffy squad.

it was genuinely doing a rt 7, so perhaps it was covering a breakdown. but i've seen it in the morning quite a few times, can't remember the exact time but about 8 ish
I've never seen STAG's operating on weekends. Is there any reason for this?

That makes sense. and because weekend routes are so horrible, people would want to cycle to the nearest major bus point.
Should they put out STAGs over non-wheelchair access buses in case of WB bus shortage on weekends?
One word: WHY?
Aside from the 900 I doubt patronage would be of a level to necessitate the use of STAGs on weekends.
even when there are special events on weekends, only artics tend to come out for those, not STags, but I have seen STags on belco-AIS for games before

Tuggers Depot also don't send out artics on weekends even though there is artW shifts. Either something to do with not enough patronage or giving the STAGs and artics a 'rest'. Not including the special services and that though...both depots often send out both for these (the STAGs less so)

Though I did learn that S/R 651 is now STAG accessible apparently...whether that be legally approved or just allocated, I don't know. But it had 470 this morning. It made the Mackillop CLG Isa driveway by the looks of it too so I guess that was the only bit not approved to my knowledge...

My morning bus usually done by a tuggies artic didn't even turn up this morning, I had to wait 20 minutes for the next bus... So whatever this is may explain it

I saw 536 on S/R 568 and 527 on a 313...I didn't see any artics anywhere else like I normally would...not even at T Depot (includes Workshops!). Does anyone actually know anything about this?
834 was running about 20 minutes late today - instead if coming at 8:15 it came at 8:35 at the City, this was a Tuggy artic shift
I saw a STAG displaying 57 on the desto today on Northbourne Ave near the Pavillion - I think this means the 57 is STAG approved.
467 ran a 61 and a 21 last night...as well as a 25 (but that is actually STAG approved...actually, hang on, no. I don't think the back of Westfield is. Maybe the 25 isn't but the 725 is :/). Usually a Renault PR100.2 (or a .3 sometimes). Not sure how it would've gone in Wanniassa, Chifley or Pearce...
466 operated the 8:12AM route 30 from the City to Belconnen. I didn't know the route 30 was STAG approved. Normally this shift receives a Belconnen-based low-floor standard bus.
Have any of the numbers changed from this list as of the latest network change? I'm interested to know now too.
The approved runs at present that I am aware of are:
2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12/712, 313, 14/314/714, 15/315, 16/316, 717, 18/318/718, 19/318/319, 725, 726, 39, 40, 43/343/743, 744, 54/254, 200, 202, 250, 300, 668, 705, 720, 732, 749.
There are other runs which could be approved based on approved roads, but aren't as far as I know actually approved routes (i.e. 17, 44, 11A, 775).
That's so few, I'm surprised.

483 just came past on a northbound 65 - the first instance of a STAG doing a 65 I know of. Only the 3rd time I've seen a STAG come past on Bugden Ave.

Looks like someone stuffed up...
The 65 (nor 171, which it is now doing) is not approved in the entirety to allow STAGs to legally operate those runs, as far as I'm aware.

Tripmate on android. Can't search by bus but will give you bus number and location for any service you select as long as the nxtbus systemof that bus thinks its currently doing that run (so from when the system concludes the previous service and before it commences the next service).
There was a shift on the route 4 that was being run by a STAG during the 2017–2018 summer holidays reduced timetable.
Bus 467 did SR823 today (normally covered by an articulated bus).
