The next round of bus deliveries will be the VST Scanias.

Build and delivery dates are not published, so they could start arriving anytime between this week and February.

For the sake of recording it here: BUS.622 has been delivered and was launched this morning to the media. It is now residing at Belconnen depot awaiting driver training I'd presume.

There is a picture in the Canberra times. What a boring, dark ugly livery. Dark blue and grey skirt.

Also interesting to see The Action name take second place to TC branding. Know the reasons why of course.

622 has entered service this afternoon. First run was a 300 from Kippax that I managed to just make at Belconnen Community Bus Station.

Rode 622 from Civic to Woden on route 163 today. Initial impressions are that the body is far less rattly than the buses in the previous part of the series which rattle from day one; and that, overall, the bus is quieter. Also noticed a minor detail, there is a once repeated tone, which is not intrusive, when the doors are opened and closed. A nice ride.

Previous part of the series? It's the first one of that type to be delivered, I assume you mean compared to the CB80 bodies.

Yes that is the Bustech door open/close chime, sometimes also used for the next stop buzzer noise.

Looks so strange without the bikerack :popping:
is the bumper on that one a different colour? could've sworn 622s was grey like the rest of the body, or is it just the surroundings making it look blue-ish?

It's got a plastic (or something like that) cover to collect all the corpses on the trip here (instead of guts all over the new paint job).

Oh yeah, I see the tape now when I zoom into the photgraph

Where was 623 sitting when you took that btw, I don't recognize anything from the reflections?

I didn't take it. It was posted by Bustech to their FB page so presumably it was taken at their Gold Coast plant. So 623 will probably make it here this week.

KoB may have answers for lots of thing, but maybe ask Bustech

Busnerd

Going to guess it was taken at Bustech given they posted it and there's a surfside bus in the reflection.

Report received that 624 has now departed Bustech.

Update: so have 625 & 626.

Barry Drive

For anyone not paying attention: the first ten have been delivered and as of yesterday are all in service at Belconnen Depot.

Sylvan Loves Buses

Yeah, I saw 630 today, nice and shiny!

Stan butler

Nice and shiny - but I don't like them.

They look like a Meccano set on the inside. The voice that announces the stops (when someone pushes the button) is very off putting - and scared the bejesus out of me the first time I heard it.

Busfanatic101

Already old enough to use for driver training apparently - 625 was on driver training yesterday. There were quite a number of other buses out on training as well including multiple L94UBs (one of them was 331), and probably 1 euro 6. Unfortunately you don't get much warning on when to get your camera ready!

On a side note, I still haven't been on a blue bus - quite sad, really, do I even still qualify as a bus enthusiast? It seems as though the universe is against me, the one time I'm getting dropped off rather than catching the bus, my bus turns out to have been a blue bus, the one time I decide to go a slightly different way and catch 2 buses instead of one, it turns out my usual one bus was a blue bus. It's at the stage now where if I can't get on one anyway, I might as well challenge myself to see how long I can NOT go on one, without modifying my bus plans based on whether a blue bus is coming. And having said that now I'll probably end up on a blue bus tomorrow...

Yeah, of course you do!

The one thing I was say is to try to not purposely get one. Cause I had the same trouble trying to get a B&R Artic, going out of my way to try and get one, but continuously failing. The pattern I've seemed to notice is "it is completely random".

I would say, either don't try to get one, or during the holidays, go out to Woden or Civic, during afternoon peak and wait for about an hour or two, and you should see them.

Barry Drive

I have been told that 641 was delivered today.

ATM 13 or 14 are in service, so give it a few weeks and all 20 will be on the road.

Busfanatic101

637 is now in service, operating 66S from Woden at 4:35pm

Sylvan Loves Buses

Saw 641 today, is that all of them now? I see so many everyday now I can't keep up.
