Once again the Tidbinbilla Extravaganza is on for 2011 & will be on from 11:00 to 15:00. As per usual, there will be ACTION/Deanes buses running the public around Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve & some locations provide an interesting spot for photographing buses in the bush as per below:

I am unsure wether it is a new thing or not, but a bus service will be provided from Platform 9 at Tuggeranong Bus Station to the staging area at the open day. I went there last year & it was a good day out & fun to be had by all. More information (including a guide of what's happening) can be found at http://www.tidbinbilla.com.au/whatshappening/

As per many annual events, the Tidbinbilla Extravaganza is on again this year. It is to be held on Sunday 15 April from 11:00 to 15:00. Below are the details available on the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve website:

Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve

The annual Tidbinbilla Extravaganza is a fun-filled day of free entertainment for the whole family. Enjoy live jazz music by the Liam Budge Quartet, a reptile display, Questacon demonstrations Explodaganza and Collisions, kids activities and more.
Kids will love the trackless train ride, environmentally friendly craft station and SES obstacle course.
Talk to an indigenous ranger and experience Aboriginal culture including traditional tool making demonstrations and bush tucker.
Barbeque food, Turkish food, baked goods, dutch pancakes, ice cream and coffee will be available for purchase.
Getting around Tidbinbilla
There will be free shuttle buses to take you between the car park and the event centre at the Nature Discovery Playground.
How to get to Tidbinbilla
The Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve is located off Tidbinbilla Road, which can be reached by:

  • using Point Hut Road from Gordon; or
  • going along Tidbinbilla Road from Tharwa.
Access to the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve will be free for the day.
By the looks of things, a shuttle won't be provided from Tuggeranong Bus Station this year. But things could still change (as per Festival Of The Forests).

Also in relation to the buses within the park, I would expect Deanes Transit Group to be providing the transport for the day.
