Archives ACT's find of the month for February 2015 covers the ACTION/Montone bus shelter painting competition, where schools and community groups had the opportunity to paint an ACTION bunker shelter.

Sadly, few examples of the shelters remain. I'd like to add a page to our website that lists those that do remain - any sightings you can report would be greatly appreciated!

Not one of the school ones, but there is a stop on Cowper st/Wakefield (southbound 7) that is painted, probably by a local artist (It was signed, but I don't remember the name). The date says it was done in 2005. It is still in great condition. It looks great, and would love to see more stops being painted with NICE artwork

King of Buses

CIT Bruce (both sides I think)

Alfred Deakin HS (Denison St)

And there are others that I believe are mostly (IIRC) on the routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 39, 40...I think...Im probably wrong, but I remember something unique about bunkers on these runs...or Im just making it up (which I don't think Im doing but anyway...)

I have the photo of a shelter on Liversidge Street, Acton.

The shelters on Kings Avenue (southbound) & at Russel Offices were painted up, but I can't remember where they went. As is a shelter on Boldrewood Street, Turner.
