Just wondering...
How will the announcement of Custom Coaches being placed into administration, affect the delivery of our buses?

While in administration, the administrators (Deloites) are running it as a going concern, pending finding a buyer. I'd be guessing that deliveries will be unaffected.

539 and 540 are now at Belconnen workshops.

539 left Woden on the 10th within an hour of me being there taking photos  >:(

540 joined it by the evening of the 11th.

Buses 544 & (fairly certain) 545 arrived this week.

Expect the buses to start entering service next week.

EDIT-Bus 546 has arrived instead of 545 as previously reported.

still 3 CB80s in Woden, 542, 544 and another one that can't be seen clearly, 818 has moved to where 709 was, next to the gate on Athllon Dr.
no sign of additional cb80s up till 1:30pm

anybody knows why 544 got the thing at the front? never knew bike racks require straps...

No straps there. It's a mounting bracket for the bike rack due to the different design of the CB80 and these being order with racks designed to go on then from the start. Will stop them having to drill huge holes in the body work to fit the racks.

549 was in service on Monday (I got it on a southbound 319).

With the site being down, 539 to 544 (that I know of) are now in service for those who didn't know.
545 I haven't heard anything about nor seen.
546 to 548 are at B Depot Workshops too apparently.
550 to around 554 (being delivered today apparently) should be at Woden and on their way to Belconnen soon.

For those who aren't following on twitter and/or fleetwiki: the first 10 vehicles (539-544, 546-549) are now in service with 546 on the road this week.

The next two deliveries, 550 & 552, have been registered. Expect one or both in service next week.

At a guess, they might be aiming for one new bus per week until about November.

What about 545 and 551. (Particularly 545. I do wonder where the heck it is...)

If I recall we are meant to be up to about 555 being here.

I have a feeling Buses 545 & 551 have been lost when production lines were stopped in Adelaide.
Now that (presumably) the buses are coming out of Sydney, unless Custom Coaches is closed for good. We shouldn't see anymore buses lost.

You don't just lose a couple of buses with six figure price tags. Obviously those two had issues delaying their delivery. You don't hold up the rest of the orders just so you can keep going in numerical order.

Don't think it's happened yet. Reports suggest the Custom plant at Adelaide will close in early September, so there still could be a few more to come. Maybe up to 555? Would also depend on how many chassis Scania delivered (and when).

IIRC, the fleet list says 559 will be the first one for tuggers? i wonder if there will be some short-term transfers...

Short-term? Do you mean if 545, 551 or other "missing" buses do not arrive when 559 is delivered? I doubt it.

But, depending on what is withdrawn and in what order, there are likely to be some Mk2 PR100.2s being transferred from Tuggeranong to Belconnen due to Tuggeranong having fewer low-numbered Mk2s than expected new deliveries. (They may be getting 37 new buses versus only 23 potential Mk2 withdrawals (going on fleet number order).)

The side desto on 546 is interesting. Spotted it last week at Dickson departing on Route 8, and the side desto was not working at all. A few days later I saw it on a 956 - the desto was working, but the number 956 was flush against the right hand side of the display. In the few LED columns between the left side and the start of the number, I could just make out "City via Palmerston" scrolling through! So the front and side appear to have become a bit mixed up.

Slightly off topic: the Custom Bus plant at Adelaide closes today, with a new Custom Care facility opening next week at Wingfield (near the Scania yard).

All new builds will come from Sydney. It's anyone's guess where 545 & 551 are right now.

551 & 555 were delivered this week (as reported by @traindriveriago). So they've nearly caught up with the contract - only 545 & 556 are "overdue", with 557 the only bus due in September.

552 was most likely in service yesterday, with 553 possibly ready for early next week.

BUS.554 has been named (and has some signwriting - not exactly like 319 though) after the driver training asessor who recently passed away. One sign in the drivers cabin and one under the drivers window above the accreditation details or whatever that stuff is.

Definitely a "wait and see" on this question. As there's still 10 (or so) Mk1s in service + 993 & 994, it's possible that Belconnen might get another 10 before any go to Tuggeranong. But the word was that Belconnen would be getting only the first 20, so the other possibility is that they will transfer the low-numbered Mk2s (or maybe PR100.3s) north for each new bus in service at Tuggeranong.

Varies greatly on the work they do.
Heavy suburban running uses around 25% more fuel than intertown running.
Generally they use between 35 and 40L/100kms + AdBlue consumption. These figures will decrease over time as engines bed in.

SCANIA? Idk about buses, but on cars, they have those stickers on them to begin with, which has fuel consumption on it.

And page 1300 on http://www.hansard.act.gov.au/hansard/2013/pdfs/20130321.pdf (http://www.hansard.act.gov.au/hansard/2013/pdfs/20130321.pdf) has figures for all other types of buses. Dunno where they got this from, but i'm assuming there would have been some 'official' figures where this data came from.

Figures quoted to the assembly would be from workshop records.
Figures for the new Scanias have not been made publicly available, hence quoting a rough range. You will not get an exact consumption figure as it is so dependant on work being done, loading and ambient temperature.

561 on the Tuggy bricks, not far from 559.

Meanwhile ex-SAR Alco diesel-electric locomotive, 962, is expected to find a new home in Canberra in the near future. Not sure whether it will be for vintage heritage train operations by ARHS ACT or for freight haulage by its commercial arm (Espee), or possibly both.

The South Australian Railways (SAR) 930 class are very similar to the NSWGR 44 class and were first generation mainline diesels introduced in late 50s / early 60s.

All valid questions. Answers may not be known for another month or three*.

There are other withdrawal possibilities: Darts; Mk2 Renaults or nothing.

560 in service ...  I think it has a reversing camera too like the artics. ..black though. New addition to euro 6 buses. Will the others be retrofitted?
Looks like the answer to that is yes. 543 sighted today with a rear camera.

Well you ask a stupid question and you'll get a stupid answer.
545 has been pretty much the only bus delivered out of order in the past decade. It was safe to assume it was 563.
Perhaps a little more thought prior to posting may put you in a better position to get a proper answer to your questions.

If you're out watching the Convoy for Cancer tomorrow, a very well presented Bus 560 should make an appearance.

Buses 561 and 562 should be joining the Tuggeranong fleet with the resumption of school runs (next week hopefully).

Notes on wiki should read 'hispacold' not 'hipsacold'. It's a Spanish air con unit (hence the hispa in the name).
According to the specs it has virtually identical cooling capacity as the TK units however it has about half the heating capacity. Interesting to see how it preforms over winter.

585 was delivered recently and 586 yesterday (ACTION posted about the latter on facebook - #shiny... apparently). Both to T Depot

Haven't had any sightings (or reported sightings) of 587 since it was allegedly delivered.

And 586 only commenced service today.

Do you actually know it's there? As in seen it with your own eyes?
Be careful of reporting here say from bus drivers.
The golden rule of depot rumors is 90% of what you hear is bullshit and the other 10% just ain't true.

I saw a new scania in the workshops  without a rack. I couldn't read the fleet no.

Not sure if it has been reported, but as expected, 585 is at B now

That's fairly flimsy evidence. If you'd actually seen the fleet number (or if someone else also reported it), then it would be different.

Could just as easily be a Scania which was towed back to the depot.

587 has been shown as delivered on the wiki for now, but need a confirmed sighting next week for it to stay that way.

Only a further 16 to come (all expected this year).

539 to 599 is 61 buses.
Add 16 more means 77 buses.

And yes, deliveries were originally meant to continue until this time next year thereabouts.

Now corrected. 18 more to enter service, 16 more to be delivered.

As stated in another thread, contract was for deliveries to continue to June 2017. This has now been brought forward - last delivery is expected in November 2016, maybe.

Which I would think means an announcement in this year's budget of a new bus procurement - maybe 106* or so - taking us up to 2022, with 23 needed in 2017 in order to scrape into DDA target of 80% low floor.

* 106 will replace remaining Renaults and keep fleet at ~420. By 2022 replacement of Irisbuses and Scania L94s will need to commence.

And that's it for Belconnen. 598 is now in service operating from Tuggeranong Depot.

Which, once all are in service, will result in Belconnen having 39 and Tuggeranong with 38. At least until the contract is extended*.

(* just speculating - a contract extension might be the easier way to obtain the next 21 or so needed to meet the 2017 80% low floor deadline. Should know for sure by next Tuesday - Budget Day.)

600 has a special sticker on the side advertising it being the "300th Easy Access Bus proudly built in Australia for ACTION."
There is 'badge' version next to the internal fleet number too.

Additionally, new deliveries (from 599 onwards at least) feature a slightly different design of Stop Buzzers.

What is the likelihood of their 300th bus coinciding with ACTION's fleet number 600? The likelihood of their 300th bus perfectly getting another _00 number in a totally unrelated fleet numbering system I think is very unlikely...

300 only if you count 20 Irisbuses which were built for King Bros, and don't count 490 which WAS built to ACTION's spec.

All (known) bus deliveries and buses entering service are recorded on the Fleetwiki. As has been mentioned before.

Photographers from "a buses magazine" were at Tuggy Depot today in connection with a forthcoming article dealing with the relative emissions of a newly arrived Scania (557) and one of the oldies - Renault 891.

The "buses magazine" (Australasian Bus & Coach) also produced a VLOG / video review about the K320UB. Some of the statements are laughable (I LOLed, anyway).
