Work is nearing completion on installing a CAM shelter at a new bus stop on Streeton Drive (northbound) near the Streeton Drive / Cotter Road intersection.

This intersection is still being reconstructed, as is the newly re-aligned Dixon Drive and Streeton Drive intersection.

There is no sign of any equivalent southbound stop being constructed at this stage.

Under the current network (Network '12), only the twice daily Route 729 Weston - City West Xpresso would service the new stop.

A similar shelter has also been installed on the westbound side of John Gorton Drive just past Streeton Drive. They look like CAM shelters, but have a clear roof.

I would say corresponding shelters would be installed once work nears completion on the southbound lanes of Streeton Drive & eastbound lanes of John Gorton Drive. With traffic starti g to switch over to the new lanes now.

This roadworks will also create two lanes each way on John Gorton Drive/Cotter Road. With this becoming the main road of the intersection.  With Streeton Drive to become the side street. With Weston Creek residents having to set the road sensors off before turning into Cotter Road.

Yes, I think you're right on that.

By the way, I have a semi-regular commuter each evening on the 729 who alights at the new North Weston stop on Cotter Rd.

Are they one of your regulars from either 729 service or a converted/newbie passenger?

There are now 3 regulars and a few other irregulars, all new faces to me.

Another shelter has been installed on Cotter Road, for the City bound passengers. Only problem is that it is situated in the middle of the intersection, sort of directly opposite the Streeton Drive median strip.

Odd, but shouldn't matter if it's in the bus lane.

Although the work is on Round 2 of "Let's Rip Up The Cotter Road Every 6 Months & Take 6 Months To Rebuild That Carriageway" I can't notice any plans for a bus lane at that intersection. That'll come next year when the rip the road up again & move the intersection a few metres north to fit in a Molonglo bound bus lane.
