One of these haven't been done for a while, so, rank the following current bus type for your preference:
Renault 100.2 MKI
Renault 100.2 MKII
Renault 100.3
Dennis Dart
MAN 18.310 (374-389 for the sake of The Love Guru)
MAN 18.320 (390-463, 491-505, so incl. 392+393)
IRISBUS
SCANIA L94UB
Scania K360UA Artics
SCANIA K320UB 14.5m
SCANIA K320UB
Also specify if this is from a passengers point of view or as a driver.
You better get it right! ;)

    Mine as a passenger is:

    • SCANIA K320UB
    • STAGs (Shame these don't get many of the nicer drivers)
    • Scania K360UA Artics
    • MAN 18.310
    • MAN 18.320
    • Renault 100.2 MKI (prefer the seat arrangement on these over the MkIIs)
    • SCANIA L94UB
    • Renault 100.2 MKII
    • Darts
    • The .3s
    • IRISBUS

Well, even though its no longer here in ACTION, it still exists and thus is current  ;D
so my list (with the non-ACTION but favourite bus at the top) is...

1. The refulgent 725!   :-*
2. Scania K360UA Artics. In particular, 535. But despite that I prefer the first 20 with the good sounds...mmm... :P
3. 986 - Our Heritage PR180.2!
4.STAGs - in particular 478 and 487
5.Renault PR2s (both MKI and MKII) - hate 912 though...it doesn't sound good
6. MAN Euro V diesels
7.MAN Euro IV Diesels
8. PR3s (incl. fmr 3a's)
9.Gas MANs - 378 deserves to be about rank 4.5 on this though...the others belong here
10. Euro VI Scanias (I've only been on a handful so I can't rank them higher than this yet...or perhaps never)
11.Scania L94s - 346 and some others need to be under the Irises to be honest. But most of them go here.
12. (V)Irisbuses  ::)
13. The spontaneous combusters (based off 148...) or as we all know them, the Darts.

SNT, Heritage (other than 986) and Field vans and trucks not included. This will change over time of course as I go on buses again and re-evaluate them. Though the darts and viruses will stay put unless something good happens (doubt it!)

EDIT: Irises > l94s. A few good runs in the past week on 315 and 301...amazingly...
and 440 can go under the pr3s.

In order of preference..

Renault PR100.2 Mk1
Renault PR100.2 Mk2
MAN 18.320
Scania K320UB
Stags (I like 467 - it has a little extra room behind the back doors, and a stop button!)
MAN 18.310
Renault PR100.3
Scania K360UA
Dennis Dart SLF
Scania L94UB
Irisbus Agoraline

As far as favourite individual buses go, I couldn't pick favourites amongst any of the 'green' buses. They just don't have the character of the legacy fleet.

Are a little bit surprised that the STAGS are rating so highly. They're a noisy bus to drive and noisy in many parts of the saloon; seat and window positioning is a bit weird in places.

Not all that attractive to look at, say compared with the gas MANs or the Scania artics. Not a usable bus on many school runs. Scania and Renault artics are more driver-friendly vehicles and are not route-constrained.

On the plus side, the manual retarder is an excellent feature and the longitudinal seating seems popular with the punters.

  • 993 (one of the very few good .3s)

If we are lucky, 993 will be the next to be removed from service. Then 994. Fingers crossed.

Not a fan of PR3s I take it...or just those two?

Snorzac

Well 993 & 994 are not 100.3s, they are a terrible cross between a .2 and .3 and yeah...from all accounts gutless heaps of shit

King of Buses

Fair enough...I don't recall ever being in those two. ..only on 992 and 995 from the prototype .3s or 2.5s or whatever...miss 990 though. ..she wasn't bad at all...
