Title: Photo of the Month - March 2015
Post by: Barry Drive on February 08, 2015, 01:55:39 PM
After a short hiatus, photo of the month is back. With a few small changes.

The winning photo will be loaded to the actbus.net front page for a month (and added to the POTM archive) and posted to ACT Bus on Facebook. The winner and runner-up(s) will also be included in the Photo of the Year vote. By submitting a photo, you are giving permission for it to be loaded onto the ACT Bus Gallery.

The rules:
  • photo must be "owned" by the person submitting it (if not, you must have the permission of the photographer to submit the photo - and identify the photographer)
  • two photographs may be submitted by any one person, provided they have not been submitted before

  • submitted photographs must prominently feature:
    • bus infrastructure (such as bus stop, bus station, bus depot) within the ACT / Queanbeyan region (location must be specified)
    and/or
    • a bus from the ACT or Queanbeyan (taken within the region or a former ACT/Queanbeyan bus) where -
      • the bus is in focus
      • the fleet or registration number of the bus is identifiable (or supplied by photographer if not visible in photograph)

If possible, please supply date or month of photo.

Refer here (http://actbus.net/gallery-submissions/) for full ACT Bus photo submission conditions.

Photos can be submitted three ways: (1) by posting to this forum topic (2) by posting on ACT Bus facebook page (3) by emailing ACT Bus (submit a "contact us" form and we'll send you an email address).

This month we are seeking photos of: concrete bunker bus shelters (especially those with murals). If you submit such a photo, you may still submit 2 other new photos.

To ensure consistency, photos must be displayed with a width of 640 (or height if 640 if a "portrait" aspect). Photos narrower than 640 pixels will not be accepted; photos wider than 640 are required to use the option width=640 in the image tag - as follows "[img width=640]".

Submissions close midnight 21 February, Australian Eastern Daylight savings Time.

Voting will commence on 22 February. Voting will be opened to guests as well as members. Voting will close on 28 Feb / 1 Mar.

Okay. Bunker Shelters.

Well, I've got one of them from CIT Bruce which is all painted up with BUS.335, a Scania L94UB CNG/CB60 from December 2013.

Then I've got the Charnwood Shops Bunker with BUS.482.

And since three photos are allowed if I put a bunker (or two in this case), I have BUS.480 and 924 at Tuggeranong Bus Station in the last few months of route 312 (and Network 12). Special thanks to Man of ACTION for letting me borrow his camera so I could take that last one as my old camera was rubbish at night time (or anytime other than in the daylight) and...yeah.

That's odd. And annoying. Guests are supposed to be able to vote, but it doesn't appear to be working.

Should be right now. Turns out guests could vote in polls, they just couldn't view them.
