Due to a fire in the Kwinana region, this has led to the Kwinana Freeway being shut down. Which in effect has shut the new Mandurah line. So until further notice the Mandurah line has been shut from Cockburn Central. I am led to believe that anyone one the Mandurah line are having rail replacement services from Fremantle down. Transperth should give more information tomorrow.  I have recieved this from people within the bushfire service. The below information from Main Roads as of 18:38:03 on 26/12/07 shows the current road closures.

I haven't rung up anyone to do with the fire as it is best to not tie up the lines down here so that the Emergency services can use them. If it was super urgent, Transperth will inform the public ASAP.

Just so some of you get an idea of where this Kwinana is, it is full of aboriginals, drunks, druggo's,Govvie housing.

Sir Pompously

Safety Bay Road is the one where the Kwinana ends and is inbetween the Freeway and the Highway which leads into Mandurah yeah?

For those who do not know, Cockburn Central (Pronounced Co-burn apparently) is a station with sidings and crossovers, so they are able to use it in cases such as rail replacement or for the W stopping pattern services which terminate there.

Perth is a great city, atleast they have some lovely beaches to cool off at. It craps over anything the east coast has!

And I hope the fires are not too bad for you all, and do you know if the Erickson Air Crane's (The ones they just nickname 'elvis' as one is named that) are over there helping out? I saw one of those flying round these parts the other day, however they are not needed here for the moment due to the cold weather.

We are trialing some special helicopter called "Fire King". It can hold lots of water & transport large amount of people as well. The fire almost hit a large petrol station & a max security prison. But all good for now.

Busnerd

Oh no, we'd hate to burn down the maximum security prison and all its inmates.  ::)
