Noticed recently that Bus 343 has an unusual digital diagnostic screen in the position usually occupied by the driver's air conditioning controls; it is about 3" by 2".

343 was the trial bus for a lot of things:
-has the unusual next stop sign
-trialled the Hanover LED desto
-First (and only) ACTION bus to have the Thorob (I think that's how it's spelt) interface (that screen you mention)
-First bus to have 'the bitch'

I'm sure there's more.

Thoreb.

Most buses in Sydney have them as standard now, a lot of them are now integrating the desto controllers into the Thoreb screen along with air conditioning. They also have the option of including route maps etc. on the screen.

343 has new name plate below outside rear window - white lettering on black background (a bit unusual). Original external name plates have become very faded.
