QuoteCanberra-based Brindabella Airlines is the latest carrier to put up airfares - with the changes coming into effect tomorrow.

The airline, which flies to Albury, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Brisbane, has blamed the rising cost of oil for the decision.

Airfares will go up an average of $13.

Chief executive Jeff Boyd says it is the second increase in the last seven months and is essential for Brindabella to stay viable.
