The Featured Bus for June 2011 is Bus 733 – a Scania K113CRB evaluation bus

Bus 733 was a Scania K113CRB evaluation bus, with body by Volgren, which was delivered to ACTION in 1991.

The K- model vehicle featured the same engine as the N- model (Bus 732), except that it was mounted vertically rather than horizontally.

The bus seated 49 passengers and was the first in the ACTION Fleet to have an all-aluminium body. The bus also featured kneeling suspension.

It was originally fitted with a roller-blind destination display which was replaced with an Alcatel/STC Cannon flip-dot display in May 1991.

The bus featured a yellow livery, with a splash of the familiar ACTION orange and blue colour scheme to be seen on the sides. It also featured a grey skirt, which was adopted on the PR100.3 and Dennis Dart vehicles delivered to ACTION in the mid 1990s.

The bus left the ACTION Fleet in 1993 and has spent time with various Victorian operators since then. Its last known operator was Christian’s Bus Company of Bendigo.
