Since 2010, we have selected one bus per month to become the ACT Bus Featured Bus, which means that vehicle is profiled on the main page of our website. Whilst there is no firm criteria for selection, generally buses with unique attributes are chosen.

Bus 673 was an MAN SG192 Articulated Bus with Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) body built in 1979 which operated for ACTION between January 1986 and July 1993.

Bus 148 is a Dennis Dart SLF ‘Midi Bus’ which entered service in 1987. It has a ‘Crusader’ body by Wrightbus of Northern Ireland, UK.

Featured Bus – October 2012

Bus 506 is a Scania K360UA, the first new articulated bus delivered to ACTION since Bus 989 in June 1993. It was delivered on 13 July 2012 and entered service at Belconnen Depot on 3 September 2012.

Bus 880 is a Renault PR100.2 (Mk2) delivered to ACTION in 1990. It is notable for having carried seven different liveries, six of them advertising liveries.

ZIB 156 was an AEC Swift 3MP2R which operated for the Canberra Bus Service between 1970 and 1979.

Bus 310 is an Irisbus Agoraline with a Custom Coaches “CB60″ body. It entered regular service with ACTION on 2 February 2004.

Featured Bus – February 2012

ZIB 251 was a Volvo B58-56 which entered service in November 1974, and was withdrawn from service in 1990. Unlike the other 75 Volvo B58s operated by ACTION, 251 was unique as it featured a coach body, built by Smithfield.

Featured Bus – January 2012

Bus 003 was a Mitsubishi FK417. It was built in May 1992 by Howard Porter Pty Ltd of Fremantle, WA. As the third “tram bus” built for ACTION and it featured several modifications from the first two buses delivered including a trolley pole on the roof and a driver’s side door.
