January

  • The ACT Government hails the 2011-12 Nightrider service a success
  • Buses 486 and 495 are delivered
  • Buses 481, 492 and 493 enter service
  • Buses 804, 805, 808 and 815 are withdrawn from service

February

  • Deanes commences a trial Canberra-Cooma service on 27 February.
  • The ACT Government commences investigations for bus stops on Adelaide Avenue
  • Buses 487, 488, 496, 497 and 488 are delivered
  • Buses 483 and 494 enter service, whilst Buses 804, 808 and 843 temporarily re-enter service.
  • Buses 804, 808, 809, 811, 814 and 843 are withdrawn from service


March

  • Construction commences on the Barry Drive “transitway” from Clunies Ross St to Marcus Clarke St.
  • Bus 499 is delivered
  • Buses 495 and 496 enter service
  • Buses 810, 812, 816 and 817 are withdrawn from service.

April

MyWay was hailed a success in April, after one year in operation.
  • A trial commences to assist visually impaired people in catching buses.
  • One year after introduction, MyWay is hailed as a success.
  • Following an ACT Bus campaign, ACTION launches a Twitter service to provide cancellation information during the morning peak hour.
  • Buses 489, 500, 501 and 503 are delivered
  • Buses 482, 497 and 498 enter service
  • Bus 845 is withdrawn from service

May

  • Network 2012 commences on 28 May 2012.
  • Forde and Bonner residents score free travel on new Route 55 for its first week of operation
  • Buses 502, 504 and 505 are delivered
  • Buses 484, 485, 486, 487, 488, 489, 500, 501, 503 and 504 enter service
  • Buses 818, 821, 822, 846 and 847 are withdrawn from service
  • Buses 146, 396, 397, 872 and 873 are transferred to Belconnen Depot
  • Buses 120, 121, 122, 123, 124, 125, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 140, 857, 858, 859, 861, 862, 863 and 871 are transferred to Woden Depot for storage.

June

  • Bus 490, a Scania K230UB Demonstrator, ended its two year trial at ACTION in June.

    The ACT Government lifts pick-up and set-down restrictions on Deanes services.

  • The ACT Budget provides funding for ninety new buses over the next five years
  • Fitting of bike racks to Renault PR100.2 buses is completed; 83% of the ACTION in-service fleet are fitted with bike racks
  • Bus 490 is withdrawn from service
  • Buses 870 and 871 are transferred to Belconnen Depot
  • Buses 857, 858, 859, 861, 862 and 863 are transferred to Tuggeranong Depot
  • Buses 150, 151, 153, 154, 155 and 156 are transferred to Woden Depot

July

  • Bus 506, the first Scania K360UA articulated bus, is delivered
  • Buses 502 and 505 enter service
  • Buses 398 and 399 are transferred to Belconnen Depot
  • Buses 156 and 873 are transferred to Tuggeranong Depot

August

ComfortDelGro aquired Deanes Transit Group in August for $53 million
  • ComfortDelGro announces it has acquired Deanes Transit Group for $53 million
  • Deanes Canberra-Cooma service ends on 10 August due to low patronage.
  • Buses 507 and 508 are delivered
  • Bus 720 is withdrawn from service
  • Bus 122 is transferred to Tuggeranong Depot for use as a training bus.
  • Buses 141, 142 and 156 are transferred to Woden Depot
  • Bus 101 suffers an engine fire in Theodore

September

  • The ACT Government announces a parliamentary loop service for the Centenary year.
  • 50% of ACTION’s fleet climate controlled
  • Buses 509, 510 and 511 are delivered
  • Bus 506 enters service
  • Bus 724 is withdrawn from service
  • Bus 123 is transferred to Tuggeranong Depot for use as a training bus but is later returned to Woden; Bus 861 is later selected as the Tuggeranong Depot training bus.
  • Bus 985 is transferred to Tuggeranong Depot.
  • Buses 122, 123, 849, 850, 857, 858, 859 and 861 are transferred to Woden Depot

October

Bus 506 on London Circuit during its media launch in September
  • Buses 512 and 513 are delivered
  • Buses 507, 508, 509 and 510 enter service
  • Buses 704 and 705 are withdrawn from service
  • Buses 151, 153, 154, 155, 156 and 988 are transferred to Tuggeranong Depot

November

  • Buses 514, 515 and 516 are delivered
  • Buses 511 and 513 enter service
  • Buses 706 and 713 are withdrawn from service
  • Buses 150 and 708 are transferred to Tuggeranong Depot
  • Bus 876 is transferred to Woden Depot
  • ACTION achieves target of 55% of in-service fleet being wheelchair-accessible
